When you are a member of Midnight Sanctuary, no matter your rank, you are to keep a respectful demeanor in and outside of the guild. Every action has it's reaction; please make sure reactions to you are positive ones, because with the guild tag you represent our guild as a whole. As a member of Midnight Sanctuary, you are expected to keep a composed and positive attitude at all times. If you choose to become a member of the guild, certain codes of conduct will apply. Negative conduct will never help or change the final outcome any more or less than constructive criticism would. If there's a suggestion you wish to give to improve a strategy or the aspect of someone's playstyle, you are to do so in a positive and constructive manner. We aim to make our raid environment a cohesion of advancement of progression and enjoyment while doing so. To accomplish this, as a member of Midnight Sanctuary, you should endeavor to come to raids prepared with both the knowledge of your class and the encounter(s). You are expected to be on time, if not early for the raid.

During raids, on vent and in raid/guild chat, we encourage raiders to socialize during downtime. However, we require that during boss encounters, all channels are kept clear in order to keep raid stability in communication. This means that when the raid leader is speaking, vent is kept clear. While we expect our members to come prepared with advanced knowledge of the encounters, we encourage players to ask questions if further clarification is needed. If your silence results in your death and/or those around you, due to ignorance of the fight's mechanics, it will reflect poorly on you. In short, always ask questions if you are not 100% sure of a fight.

We want Midnight Sanctuary to be a guild that we can all be proud to be a part of, and our reputation in the community impacts many aspects of the guild. Firstly, in out-of-guild raids, you are to be fair to others and not take loot in unjust ways. Secondly, you will not engage in public rants in-game or on any forums. If you are not capable of settling differences between yourself and another player, both guilded and non-guilded players alike, you are to speak to an officer. Make sure to make an effort to communicate clearly and effectly. Guild members will refrain from using abusive language or racial slurs publicly. Any abuse of guild channels and Ventrilo will have your speaking privledges suspended indefinitely.

When you wear the tag, you are the guild's representative to everyone that you play with.

Midnight Sanctuary is comprised of various ranks:

- GM and Officer (Officer Alt)
These are the guild and raid leadership. If you have questions regarding policies, guild bank, raid loot, or whatever, they are the people to talk to.

- Raider (Alt Char)
Raiders are the core of our raid team. Raiders are generally expected to be at raids on time, all the time.

- Banker (Alt Char)
Bankers are raiders who operate and maintain our expansive bank.

- Friends/Family
People we like and/or want to have in guild, but are exempt from raiding restrictions.

- Retired Officer
Retired Officers may be treated as casual or Friends and Family on a case by case basis.

Raiders, Bankers, and Officers are expected to be online and ready at raid time every raid (including getting your consumables). Raiders are expected to participate in whichever raid content the raid leadership has decided to tackle. Raiders earn DKP toward the purchase of gear.

Friends and Family may get invited to raid if a slot is open and they're on, but there's no obligation to either invite or raid, nor is there any guaranteed reward.

For extended details on the DKP and loot system, see the DKP/Loot System page.

If a raider has a change in their schedule and is unable to attend raids regularly, they should notify the officers and they'll be moved to Friends/Family as appropriate in their situation.
